We created a themed learning journey around the idea of a scientific expedition to a hidden village in the Sichuan mountains. As well as giant pandas, red pandas also live here as ambassadors for their increasingly threatened habitat, along with Chinese giant salamander, the largest amphibian in the world, Chinese alligators and playful Asian short-clawed otters. Themed interpretation integrated into the environment offers vital lessons not just about their protection, but also the value of all the flora and fauna in their fragile ecosystem.
Alongside Ocean Park’s Giant Pandas, this themed experience encourages visitors to find out about some of their equally amazing endangered species from the temperate forests of Mainland China.
